The Everly Brothers: Don Everly, Phil Everly (vocals, guitar) first performed Gone, Gone, Gone and then recently covered by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss (2007) but heres my skiffle version with auto-harp, banjo, tamberines, tea-chest bass and vocals.

Battle of New Orleans (mp3)
This one was done by Lonnie Donigan very sucessfully. My new slant was a vocal chorus. Good fun...

Dont you rock me daddio (mp3)
Two bands performed this; Lonnie Donigan and Chas MacDavitt very sucessfully and both having big hits. My version is a cross between the two. Enjoy!

Alabammy Bound (mp3)
Made popular by Lonnie Donagan. My version 'grooves' along a bit with Banjo, Tea chest bass and Auto Harp. Chorus was multi-tracked X 3 vocals. Easy chorus to learn so it is popular at gigs etc.

Cumberland Gap (mp3)
Another good chorus song. Originally a railroad folk song but 'nicked' for Skiffle by The vipers and Lonnie Donagan. My version, Banjo, Auto Harp, Base, Washboard and Acoustic Guitar and 3 X backing vocals added.

Jailhouse Blues
Original Jug Band song. Banjo, Tea chest, Kazoo 3 X tracked, Auto Harp, pinched for Skiffle by me! I thought it was a funny song so I did a lot of laughing!

Little Darlin (mp3)
Love this song. It captures all the 50-60s song recipes. I've tried to keep to the orginal structure. Mainly a vocal song with it's backing technique and Bop Bop Deridy etc..The star in this song is the frying pan! Add the washboard, which covers for the castanet’s beat, Base and 12 string Guitar and you've got a really funny cover for a 50's hit!

Mamma Don't allow (mp3)
Another great song that gets people to join in! Originally a Jazz song that allowed all the band members to show off with some fancy solos! Skiffle Bands nicked this years ago and created big laughs at the strokes the band pulled when it came to their turn, especially the washboard and tea chest players! Banjo, Guitar, Tea chest base, Auto Harp, Kazoo and vocals X 3

Midnight Special (mp3)
This was a prison song referring either to the distant headlamp on the train or the Icon of a shining light on the prison bible, Harmonica, Banjo, Base, Auto Harp, 12 string guitar and washboard.

Not Fade Away (mp3)
A rip off from The Rolling stones and Buddy Holly. Sorry guys, I couldn't resist it! The base creates the beat, the washboard fills the gaps and the acoustic guitar keeps the tonic chords. The bell and the hooter were an afterthought and the Kazoo for the solo break! Glad I left them in now! Hilarious stuff. I tried to emulate the 'Rock' voice but you can't win 'em all.

Oh Boy (mp3)
Another sorry to Buddy Holly but I know he would forgive me. Skiffle gave me the gift of performing with others and we learnt to be a team and learned those valuable chords. Skiffle went out of fashion and in came Rock and Roll and Buddy and the Crickets, who we worshipped! We sold all our gear and bought electric guitars, Amps and Mic's and suits and off we went. Thanks Buddy.....Banjo, Auto Harp, Base, Acoustic Guitar, and 3 X vocals

Sorry Buddy! Everybody who's anybody should know this song. Great chorus, great everything. Banjo, Base, Auto harp, acoustic guitar and loads of noise with a driving beat.
