Song Writing and The Grim Reaper

The Grim Reaper The Grim Reaper

There are many ways you can approach Song Writing. Some people think of the tune first and add words later. Others write the words first and then the Tune. There is no established way. It’s whatever works for you.

Try and make the song have a story or theme so that it makes some sense. ‘The Grim Reaper’ was written by me to tell the story of a Legend that everyone is visited by the thing that claims your soul at your death.

I used three chords and a repetitious chorus and verses, creating a mental ‘Hook’, “The Reaper will get’cha and he’ll take yer down”. For instruments I used Auto Harp, Six String Guitar, and an Electric Bass and Tambourine in the Choruses. It’s easy! Try writing your own songs.
