Skiffle Tips
Its always a good thing to keep your music as basic and primitive as possible. Flashy and brilliantly executed instrument solos or breaks are not what it is all about! Make loads of noise and get your audience to join in. Don't take Skiffle seriously!

What is the best way to form a band?
One or two guitars, tea chest bass, washboard and everyone sings vocals! The more instruments, the better. Play them, your prospective members, our download's and bully them into Skiffle!

How do I build a Tea Chest Bass?
E-mail me at help@englandmusic.co.uk and I'll send you the very simple instructions.

Where can I find Tea Chest's?
Call on Removal firms. They use loads of them in all sizes and they will sell you one cheap in good condition.

What's the dress code?
'Beatnic' Style if you are not a show-off! Oversized woolly jumper, frayed bottomed flared jeans, sandles and sunglasses to hide behind and long hair. If you are a show-off then the whole band can wear fancy dress chosen on a theme. 'Farmers' used to be popular but I've seen 'Hillbillies' with large brimmed hats, denim bib and brace and sandals and how about 'Space Aliens? Anything for a laugh!

Where can I get an Auto Harp?
Go to your local music shop and ask to see their catalogues.
